HICS-Server is a HIPAA compliant server for exchanging emails and attachments between MART and Vendors. In order for MART to exchange information electronically with other companies the information has to be secure and should follow HIPAA guidelines. It is in a VPN format that HICS has eliminated almost of all of the risks associated with security with exception for someone attacking the server itself.

HIPAA compliance allows entities to use internet without worrying about the system getting compromised. For this the HIPAA has come up with various protocols which have to be followed if entities have to continue to do business electronically.
